August 12, 2015Dear Parent/Guardian, Students, Families, and Community Members,
Next week we will begin the 2015-2016 school year. I am excited to be part of the Downey School Community as your principal. I have had an adventurous career as an educator and school administrator with the Harrisburg School District for more than 14 years. Since 2013, I have served as the Principal Administrator of Downey Elementary School, located in Harrisburg, PA. My leadership style and efforts are focused on living and following Stephen Covey’s, “7 Habits of Highly Effective People.” It is my commitment and daily practice to encourage and support others in finding their voice and leadership potential.
Prior to becoming the Principal at Downey Elementary School, I served in a variety of educational positions including: Acting Principal at Harrisburg High School, SciTech High Campus; Acting Assistant High School Principal at Harrisburg High School, John Harris Campus; Acting Assistant Principal at Scott Elementary School; and various teaching assignments at the middle and high school level.
I look forward to collaborating with you to provide additional enrichment activities and events through the PTA/PTO and community partnerships. Please look for additional communication throughout the year on our website, in the mail, and through the Global Call system. I look forward to another great year at Downey School!
