Mr. Kirkpatrick and nine students attended a Carbon Earth science exposition to explain and defend their work at Penn State University.They learned from 130 top scientists in the country and a few in the world.Present were two Nobel Prize winning scientists, Sir Harry Kroto and Richard Alley: Kroto for his work with carbon compounds called fullerenes (buckyballs) and Alley for his work with ice core samples and climate change.They both sat with our kids and described in detail their work in science.The students spoke with confidence and received great recognition for their achievements by many judges that day.
