Ben Franklin School and Math and Science Academy Student Council
Our student council is comprised of select students in grades four through eight who have been chosen by their teachers based on their leadership and academic skills. This group of students is at the forefront of planning, implementing and communication major school initiatives including; Positive Behavior Intervention Support and Strategies (PBIS), Pennies for Patients drive, Spirit Weeks, Red Ribbon Week, Children’s Grief Awareness Day and other projects and programs which promote a positive school climate.
Student Council also runs Channel 66 news our daily news program. Members serve as anchor men and women as well as behind the scene camera and audio technicians. Coverage includes upcoming events, PBIS messages, student birthdays and any other information relevant to our student body.
