The Harrisburg University of Science and Technology High School (SciTech High) is a small learning community created by the Harrisburg School District in collaboration with the Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. Total enrollment at SciTech is limited to 400 serious and motivated students from the Capitol Region that demonstrate interest in and enthusiasm for a rigorous educational experience focused on a well-rounded education. SciTech High offers a comprehensive honors level, college preparatory academic program and provides significant opportunities for project-based learning rooted in real world business and technology experiences.
High expectations and professionalism are hallmarks for teachers and students at SciTech High. Pride in learning and the celebration of academic success are part of the fabric of the school. Continuous content-based professional development is expected of the faculty - a feature of the school supported by its curricular integration with a comprehensive university. Preparing students for achievement in a diverse workplace represents a second philosophical pillar of SciTech High. This recognizes that the young learners of metropolitan Harrisburg benefit from participating in real world experiences as a fundamental part of the SciTech High experience.
Admission to SciTech High is by application. All of the items listed on the application checklist must be submitted to the SciTech High Admissions Team following described protocol. It is the student's responsibility to deliver the application materials to his or her teachers and guidance counselors according to the instructions on these forms and to follow up with these individuals to ensure that all materials are submitted in a timely manner. A complete application for the 2012-2013 school year must be submitted by February 3, 2012.

Completeapplications are reviewed by the SciTech Admissions Team. If minimum requirements (2.5 core GPA minimum, which includes Math, Science, English and Social Studies grades from first and second marking periods) are met and a complete application has been submitted, an interview will be scheduled. Final admissions determinations are based upon teacher recommendations, grades, placement scores, attendance, discipline, a writing sample and an interview.Parents, guardians, and students will be notified of admissions status on or about TBD.
Students who are accepted will be required to attend the mandatory new student and parent meeting, and complete the Summer Bridge program.
