According to the No Child Left Behind federal law, every state must assess its students yearly. Pennsylvania administers a Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) each year to students. These are some of the most important tests to be taken during one’s education and the results of this test become a permanent part of each student’s cumulative folder that will follow him/her throughout his/her school years. Students who miss school during the regular testing periods will be tested in make-up sessions throughout the week.
It is very important that each student come to school each day of the test – prepared to do his/her best. You can help make sure this happens in the following ways:
·Get a good night’s sleep the night before; go to bed at least by 9:00 p.m.
·Eliminate stressful situations in the home.
·Exercise outside after school – get at least one half hour of active exercise each day.
·Come to school every day – on time. All students will be required to complete the entire test.
