The vision of the Harrisburg School District in pursuit of educational excellence is to empower all students to become high academic achievers and lifelong learners who understand the need for a rigorous and diversified education and who are motivated and prepared to compete and succeed beyond high school graduation in 21st Century global markets.
Increase student achievement in reading, math, and science by at least 5 points by the end of the 2013 – 2014 school year as measured by the PSSA, Keystone, DIBELS Next, And meet and/or exceed growth at each grade level as indicated by PVAAS.
Student attendance will increase from 1 to 2.3% for the 2013-2014 school year
Student truancy will decrease by 3% for the 2013-2014 school year
Staff absences will decrease by 3% for the 2013-2014 school year
Family and community engagement participation will increase by at least 10% at the district and school sites for the 2013-2014 school year
Environment School Climate
The student suspension rate will decrease by 5% during the 2013-2014 school year.
