2011-2012 Garden Club Initiatives
  • Seed Kits - The Marshall Garden Club put together kits for each classroom.  The kit included everything that each classroom needed to "start" seeds: milk cartons, 3 seeds each of 3 different varities of annual flowers, potting soil.  Each classroom planted the seeds and nurtured them to germination.
  • Earth Day Concert Event - On April 19, the Garden Club hosted the Spring Concert, "Every Day Is Earth Day."  After the concert, the school community was invited outside to see the area where our brand new USDA People's Garden was taking shape.  Students and Parents planted annuals (some of which came from the seed kits that the garden club put together for each classroom) into pots.  Those flower pots now beautify the entrance and lobby of Marshall School.
  • USDA People's Garden - Located outside the library on the Harris Terrace side of the school building is the USDA People's Garden.  It is here that The Garden Club will grow vegetables.  Students and Families will be taking care of the USDA People's Garden all summer long.
