Mental Health Consultant Responsibilities

 

 

1.                   The Mental Health Consultant will attend at least two CASST team meetings per month.

 

2.                   The Mental Health Consultant will conduct informal mental health assessments when the need is identified by the CASST team.

 

3.                   The Mental Health Consultant will be available for phone consultation as needed.  If the Consultant is unavailable, call Keystone Human Services (818-671-7864).

 

4.                   The Mental Health Consultant will provide feedback to parents following the informal assessment if deemed appropriate by the CASST team.  This includes informing parents about recommendations, as well as how to access services.

 

5.                   The Mental Health Consultant will guide the CASST team through the process of contacting Crisis Intervention following an informal assessment, if necessary, and act as a support system for the involved student and the school.

 

6.                   The Mental Health Consultant and other Keystone Children and Family Services SAP-trained staff will be available for postvention needs.

 

7.                   The Mental Health Consultant will participate in maintenance sessions.

 

8.                   The Mental Health Consultant will review CASST policies and procedures at the request of the team.

 

9.                   The Mental Health Consultant will conduct in-services and trainings for students, CASST team and faculty when requested.

 

10.               The Mental Health Consultant will be available to co-facilitate up to two mental health-related support groups.  KCFS’s group guidelines will be reviewed prior to group development and implementation.

 

Note:    The Collaborative Action for Student Success Team (CASST) fulfills the role of the SAP team in the Harrisburg School District.  Keystone Children and Family Services provide mental health consultants for the CASST.
