Here we are at the History of Winter. Above is a picture of the lodge we are living in for the next week. The other two photos are of Mrs. Recher, and Tony Gow. Tony Gow is a world famous retired research scientist for the Army Corp of Engineers, who has been studying ice cores in Antarctica for 50 years. Today we were digging snow pits to learn about the snow fall history of this winter in Lake Placid. Lake Placid currently has about 3 feet of snow pack. Today we also built quinzee, which we may be sleeping in tonight. You will have to log on each day to learn more about Mrs. Recher and Mr. Pittman's snow filled adventure. Tomorrow we are ICE CLIMBING.
