It's a brand new day

Welcome to the Community Relations Committee Blog for the Harrisburg School District. As the new chair of this committee, I am looking forward to serving you to the best of my ability. Since the elected board has taken over governance of the District, I am happy to say that the relationship between the community, the families, the private sector, and the District has greatly improved. It is my hope that those relationships will get even stronger as we move forward in the coming school year. So often transportation is an issue for residents when they want to attend a school board committee meeting. That is why this year the Community Relations Committee will be instituting a new schedule where we will have two meetings a month. One meeting will be at the administraition building and the other meeting each month the committee will be coming into the community on a rotating basis at the various school sites. That way all of the neighborhoods will have the opportunity to come out and join us in conversation about those things that are important to all of us. Stay on the look out, the new schedule will be posted soon. Once again it is an honor to serve you. And I look forward to doing so in the coming year.
