SciTech Half Days
Kiwanis sponsors the SciTech chapter of Key Club and they invite Key Club members to lunch every Thursday. Since we are a new club, they wanted them to make a presentation about our school and how Key Club impacts it. Four students from Harrisburg High School and SciTech have completed the Architect, Construction, and Engineer (ACE) Mentoring Program. A banquet was held at the Hershey Lodge to give the students an opportunity to present their submissions. The project was a redesign of the Hershey Fire Station. Each team consisting of students from various high schools and career centers were given specific parameters for the building and then assigned mentors from various construction trades. The teams met once each week for sixteen weeks with architects, engineers, construction managers, welders, electricians, masons, and carpenters to learn about construction techniques and requirements. Scholarships will be offered to students who wish to pursue a degree in the construction industry.
